Our CCJ Enforcement Process
1.
Contact Equivo
Provide the details of your CCJ to our team. Our specialists review your case and advise on the next steps to ensure enforcement is handled correctly.
2.
Transfer to the High Court
Your County Court Judgment is transferred to the High Court. This enables us to issue a Writ of Control, granting our officers legal authority to enforce the judgment on your behalf.
3.
Notice of Enforcement sent to debtor
The process starts with the compliance stage, when we will send a Notice of Enforcement to the debtor. The notice will be sent to the debtor, giving them 7 clear days (excluding Sundays and bank holidays) to pay the sums due in full.
4.
Enforcement by HCEOs
High Court Enforcement Officers attend the debtor’s premises to recover the debt. Each case is conducted professionally, safely and in full compliance with regulations. Our officers will document every action to ensure accountability.

Your CCJ Questions Answered
How much does it cost to transfer a CCJ to the High Court?
The transfer itself is free and typically takes 10–14 days. Issuing a Writ of Control requires a court fee of £80, payable to HMCTS. A compliance fee of £90 applies only if enforcement is unsuccessful.
How do you enforce a judgment against a company?
For CCJs against a company, a warrant of execution can be obtained. Our High Court Enforcement Officers may then seize assets of value owned by the company to recover the debt.
When can I enforce a judgment?
Enforcement must begin within six years of obtaining the judgment. Attempts can continue beyond this timeframe as long as the initial enforcement began within six years.
